Somerset County Women’s League division three south: Wellington Ladies 4, Pen Mills Development 5

Our Ladies were unlucky not to take the win, or at least a draw, from their game against Pen Mill at the Playing Field today (Sunday, October 13th).

There was outstanding play all the way through, lots of through balls, lots of shots on target and lots of brilliant runs from the Ladies.

The first half left finished 2-2 with Natasha Hole scoring two blinders using her speed to get past Pen Mill’s defenders with assists from Ash Grabham-White and Charlotte Holder.

With one sub, Wellington constantly rolled on and off to give players a breather and get fresher legs involved.

Player-of-the-match Hole scored another brilliant goal, again assisted by Grabham-White, who intercepted a ball from Pen Mill and sent her running to complete her hat-trick.

Fifteen from the end, Grabham-White ran on to a through ball from Kate Sinfield which left her one-on-one with the keeper and she smashed it home to make the score 4-4.

Unfortunately, Pen Mill got another right at the end to clinch victory.
