One of our youth teams have been rewarded for their behaviour last season.

Wellington U12s Rovers attended the annual presentations of the Taunton and District Youth League, held at Bridgwater and Albion Rugby Club, and received the Fair Play/Sportsmanship award for their age group.

Louise King, on behalf of the team said: “This was a well-deserved award, not only recognising the behaviour of the players but also the coaching staff and, of course, the parents.

“With discipline being high on the agenda of youth football at the moment, everyone involved should be very proud of receiving the award.

“Rovers look forward to the new season as U13s and have spaces available.

“Please contact the club’s Youth Teams Secretary, Colin Waller, on 01823 667411.”

Meanwhile, our U16s were also present at the awards to collect their age group championship trophy.

They completed the double by also winning the Somerset FA Youth Shield – becoming the first of our youth sides to win their county competition – and now step up into the Western Counties Floodlit Youth League.
