It was a beautiful summer’s day as our U9s made the journey down to Torquay for their final tournament of the season at Upton.

From the first whistle, the lads were on fire, playing some fantastic football and cruising through the group stages with four wins and just one defeat.

Unfortunately, their tournament journey came to an end in the quarter-finals, as they were edged out by a strong West Exe side.

Despite the disappointment of the defeat, the boys can hold their heads high – they gave absolutely everything.

They played some lovely football and tested the opposition goalkeeper, frustratingly hitting the woodwork on no fewer than four occasions.

Throughout the tournament, they demonstrated the perfect blend of positivity, resilience, determination and respect – values which are the cornerstone of the fantastic team.

The goal scorers on the day were Jack Jorge (four), Rex Beatty (two), Fraser May (two), Jude Norman, Louis Molloy and Harrison Thompson although all the boys played for each other and kept the ball moving with real purpose.

A big thank you to kit sponsors Roadchef for their continued support.

The squad are already looking forward to an exciting and positive season in 2024-25.
