Pre-season training is in full swing for our first team with manager Richard Cherry busy finalising his squad for the new campaign.

The Tangerines will again be playing in the Western League premier division, kicking off away to Ilfracombe Town on Saturday, July 27th.

We improved throughout Cherry’s first season in charge and our finish included victory over eventual champions Helston Athletic and an injury time defeat by runners-up Falmouth Town.

The manager has confirmed that virtually all of the players have already committed for 2024-25 and he is also looking to add several new signings.

Among those staying with the club are highly rated keeper Jake Viney, experienced defender Kieran Bailey and midfielder Glen Wright, who won a hat-trick of awards at the end-of-season presentations.

They will be joined by the likes of midfielders Sam Towler and Josh Lukins, along with defender Mark Cornish.

There’s also a welcome return for striker Jake Quick – leading scorer in both 21-22 and 22-23 – who spent last season with Axminster Town.

Training sessions are continuing on the 3G pitch at Taunton’s Castle School with the first warm-up game taking place against the club’s Reserves on Saturday.

The following friendlies (all away) have also been arranged:

  • Wednesday, July 10th: Chard Town.
  • Wednesday, July 17th: Minehead.
  • Saturday, July 20th: Newton Abbot Spurs.
  • Tuesday, July 23rd: Bridgwater and Taunton College.
